The ISA-ASIC in energy and bms battery management systems for private cars and trucks

In 2002 we were the first company in the world that was able to realize a highly precise measurement of current, voltage and temperature in an automobile. The ISA-ASIC IHM-A-1500 developed for this purpose, an offset-free 4-channel measuring system with 16 to 23-bit resolution and very low noise as well as high linearity, is automotive-qualified and in series operation in a variety of applications. In combination with physically optimized, extremely low-impedance resistors made from Manganin®, battery data such as charging state (SOC) and working life condition (SOH) are measured with a high degree of accuracy.

For the complete energy management required in future, besides the battery current the current consumed in the vehicle or generated in the generator must be acquired. For this we have developed a sensor, consisting of a double input resistor (e. g. 100 µOhm plus 200 µOhm) and an ASIC.

The ISA-ASIC in general metrology

Because of its unique metrological characteristics and the many special functions, the ISA-ASIC is ideally suited for many applications of metrology. Characteristic, among other things, are: variable sampling rates from 2 Hz to 16 kHz, internal precision reference and calibrated temperature measurement, internal oscillator, dual-mode, wake-up function, sensor-break monitoring and digital comparator.
Isabellenhütte has itself developed and produced a series of measuring devices since 2006 based on the IHM-A-1500, which are all distinguished through high precision (
Precision measurement).
We offer the ISA-ASIC even from small quantities. Please contact us:
